Description:

The selection, prosecution and registration of trademarks and the protection of trademarks rights in Canada. The course will take an in-depth look at trademark issues in Canada, including distinctiveness, confusion and trademark enforcement. We will also look at recent changes to the Trademarks Act.

Additional information on the teaching method delivered in this class:

Students should be prepared to attend and participate in synchronous online lectures and discussion. The Zoom platform (or other platform designated by the University) will be used. Students will be invited to turn on their video and must be able to activate audio for Q&A.

Additional Requirements or Recommendations:

It is recommended that students take Intellectual Property Law (the introduction course) before taking this course.
