Former Common Law Replacement Professor Emilie Taman has been named to Canadian Lawyer’s list of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in the “Government/Non-Profits/Associations” category.
Emilie Taman spent most of her career before joining the law faculty as counsel for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC), where she specialized in federal regulatory and economic crime prosecutions. In 2017, she was a candidate for the NDP in the federal by-election in Ottawa-Vanier. She is currently the president of the Old Ottawa South Community Association, and is planning to run in the next municipal election to represent Capital ward on Ottawa city council.
Now in its eighth year, Canadian Lawyer’s Top 25 initiative asks readers to vote in a public poll to support and highlight colleagues who are doing extraordinary things within the profession and beyond it.
