Biennial Research Report for the Common Law Section, 2016-2018

The Biennial Research Report for the Common Law Section, covering the years 2016-2018, is now available online.

The research achievements documented in this report belong to us all—the researchers, the Dean, the Research Office staff, the administrative staff, and the Vice-Deans Research, including Elizabeth Sheehy, Adam Dodek, Teresa Scassa, Jamie Benidickson and Anthony VanDuzer, on whose work we continue to build.

This report shows that our Faculty is a research leader among law faculties in Canada on many fronts: in research chairs, in obtaining funding and awards, in knowledge mobilization, in collaborations with diverse communities on both national and international levels, and in producing influential legal publications.

We are all proud of these achievements. At the same time, we recognize that research success is intimately connected to teaching, student experience, and the creation of a nurturing research environment. We believe, therefore, that it is important to create and sustain a rich, collegial, and intellectual environment that provides a crucible for innovative pedagogy and student engagement as much as for cutting-edge research.

Together we have succeeded in creating a culture of research excellence within this Faculty. Congratulations to all of our researchers and all of their supporters!

Happy reading!
