Attorney General of Ontario Makes Announcement at University of Ottawa

Attorney General of Ontario and Government House Leader Yasir Naqvi (LL.B. 1999) was at the Faculty of Law on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 to announce that the province is adding resources and hiring more staff to speed up justice in Eastern Ontario.


The province is investing over $7 million in the National Capital Region’s justice system to increase access to justice and reduce delays in the justice system.


The Government of Ontario is also making changes to ensure Francophone and Indigenous communities have equal access to justice services. Of note, the province has appointed a new and permanent French Language advisory committee chaired by Common Law Alumnus Justice Paul Rouleau (LL.B. 1977), to identify and help reduce barriers in the justice system faced by French speakers.
