Andrew Feltham, J.D. 2020, has been chosen to clerk with Justice Sheilah Martin at the Supreme Court of Canada. Mr. Feltham is currently in his second year of the Faculty of Common Law's English JD Program. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Ottawa, and also holds a MA from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA, '10).
Throughout his second-year studies, Mr. Feltham worked for Legal Aid Ontario's Criminal Duty Counsel office. As a placement student, he provided assistance to those making their first appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice. He also supported Duty Counsel staff lawyers with remand, bail, and plea hearings. In 2018, he was awarded the Aird & Berlis LLP Prize for achieving the highest standing of his first-year class.
Mr. Feltham has been a member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) since 2006. He is currently training to become a legal officer and is the first non-commissioned member to merit a position into the Military Legal Training Plan. He currently summers with the Office of the Judge Advocate General and will continue his career as a legal officer upon being called to the bar.
Mr. Feltham will begin his clerkship with Justice Martin in 2020.
