We are excited to announce a new book forthcoming: Vulnerable: The Law, Policy & Ethics of COVID-19, edited by Colleen M. Flood, Vanessa MacDonnell, Jane Philpott, Sophie Theriault, and Sridhar Venkatapuram.
We stand in solidarity with all Black members of our Common Law community – students, faculty, staff and alumni – and with all members of the Black community in denouncing anti-Black racism. Over the past week, outrage over racial discrimination, racial violence and pervasive systemic racism has boiled over across North America. While the situation is particularly acute in the United States, we recognize that Canada has its own history and ongoing problem of racial discrimination and oppression.
The Faculty of Law is very pleased to welcome Erin Fitzpatrick as its first Mental Health and Wellness Counsellor working exclusively with law students. Erin will provide a variety of counselling supports to students, as well as expertise and support for the Faculty’s Student Wellness strategic initiatives.
As the competition had to be cancelled in response to the COVID-19 crisis, the organizers decided to recognize the efforts of the students by continuing to the evaluation of the factums and awarding the prizes for best factums.
