This event provides the opportunity for current and former members of the Ottawa Law Review to casually exchange their experiences, their career paths, and to establish lasting relations.
Every year, the OLR hosts a prominent legal professional at the Faculty of Law to discuss a pressing legal issue.
This year, the OLR annual Symposium will be unlike any held in the past. In light of the 150th Anniversary of Confederation, we partnered with the Public Law Group of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law to host the conference: The Charter and Emerging Issues in Constitutional Rights and Freedoms: From 1982 to 2032. This conference, held on March 8–10, 2017, will bring together leading constitutional scholars, as well as community leaders and policy makers to discuss and examine the possibilities and challenges for constitutional rights and freedoms over the next 10–15 years.
The conference will begin on the evening of Wednesday, March 8, 2017 with a “Dragon’s Den” style Charter Pitch. There will be a reception at the Supreme Court of Canada on the evening of Thursday, March 9, 2017.
The Honourable Mr. Justice Richard Wagner of the Supreme Court of Canada will deliver a keynote address. The Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould has been invited.
The program qualifies for 11.5 hours of substantive CPD
The Ottawa Law Review Annual Welcome Party will take place at 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at PPL Night Club. This event is not limited to the members of the Ottawa Law Review and is open to individuals who are interested to connect with the members of the Ottawa Law Review to learn more about the review.
