The Faculty of Law, Common Law Section is pleased to announce that Professors Chidi Oguamanam and Jeremy de Beer have been appointed as Senior Fellows at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI).
Professor Oguamanam will serve as a Senior Research Fellow with CIGI under their International Law Program, where he will write and contribute on the areas of intellectual property right and its intersection with traditional knowledge of indigenous peoples and local communities. He will also contribute to related issues, including access and benefit sharing over genetic resources.
Professor de Beer will also serve as a Senior Research Fellow under the International Law Program. He will be researching and writing about intellectual property issues in regional trade agreements, notably, the rise of trade regionalism and its implications for Canada’s innovation and intellectual property strategy.
CIGI is an independent, non-partisan think tank. Its research programs focus on governance of the global economy, global security and politics, and international law.
