Information for Community Organizations

Community Legal Education and Outreach

The Community Legal Education and Outreach Division provides a proactive focus to legal problems. Our goal is to inform and educate the community with respect to their legal rights, responsibilities and obligations. We believe that making the law accessible to individuals and communities helps prevent legal problems or minimize their effect.

The Community Legal Education and Outreach Division does not provide legal advice, but is designed to present legal information in an accessible and comprehensible manner.

Through collaboration and coordination with partnership organizations we design and prepare information sessions and other methods of communication to community groups regarding various legal issues. Information sessions may take the form of traditional lectures or interactive methods such as games. Please visit our Topics page for more information regarding popular presentation topics developed by our Community Legal Education and Outreach Division.

Please contact the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic if your organization would like to use our Community Legal Education and Outreach Division’s services. You can contact us by e-mail at cle@uOttawa.ca or by phone at (613) 562-5600.
